Maine Lobster diving would reach new heights in 1876 when Miss Mather patented her sealskin diving suit - model SSDS008. Considered a visionary of her time, she held over 60 patents on various diving apparatus and tooling systems. Some say that lobster diving was made illegal in Maine for the sole purpose of derailing Miss Mather’s overwhelming advantage - lobstermen just couldn’t compete. Each print is hand died by the artist to replicate the look and texture of vintage weathered parchment. Stains, wrinkles, color fluctuations and other imperfections should be expected, and add to the rich detail of each piece. No two prints are alike, making your investment truly unique! All our prints come in standard frame sizes making display a breeze (frames not included).
